Nintendo 2DS Announced!

 

 Nintendo today announced a new game system: the Nintendo 2DS. The 2DS plays all 3DS and DS games, sans the 3D effects offered by 3DS. It will launch alongside Pokemon X and Y in North America and Europe on October 12 for $129.99.

Mega Man Hits 3DS Virtual Console Next Week

 

 Capcom will release the very first Mega Man game to the 3DS Virtual Console next week. The classic Famicom/NES title, originally released on December 27, 1987, will be available on July 18, priced ¥500.

 

   

Nintendo Announce Nitendo 3DS LL

 

Rumors had long been floating that Nintendo will revised the Nintendo 3DS, and yesterday it announced the new “Nintendo 3DS LL” via Nintendo Direct broadcast.

The new system has a 4.88 inch top screen and 4.18 inch bottom screen, and Nintendo states that it gives gamers 90% more screen for both screens. Of course, this mean the system also weighs heavier at 336 grams and is 46% larger in dimentions. However, the battery life has also improved from 3.5 hours to 6.5 hours for game time.

Nintendo Previews New Wii U Console Before E3

Right before the E3 conference, Nintendo did an early preview of their upcoming Wii U console. The presentation you see is done by Nintendo’s president Iwata Satoru.

 The controller is called “Wii U GamePad”, and has been redesigned following last year unveiling. It features a 6.2-inch touchscreen with motion and gyro sensors and a built-in camera. The controller will serve as a secondary device to display maps or other information to complement game play, acts as a touchscreen game board and even act as a second monitor.




 Other highlights worth noting is the addition of the social network “Miiverse (Mii Universe)”, where gamers can connect their game avatars together, so they can have fun discussions and co-op gameplay.
