S.H.Figuarts Kamen Rider Kaixa Glowing Stage

After the recent Kamen rider Faiz Glowing Stage Set a brief teaser had been shown featuring a possible second Glowing Stage release. Well it's been confirmed now that none other than Kamen Rider Kaixa will be receiving the Glowing Stage treatment!

Painted in a UV reactive paint Kaixa (like Faiz) glows when the stage is turned on, replicating the suit effects from Kamen Rider Faiz. S.H. Figuarts Kaixa Glowing Stage will be a Tamashii Web Exclusive due for release in November for 6300 yen.

Tamashii Features Vol. 6: The New Kamen Rider SHF

The focus of the Tamashii Features event this weekend has been to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the S.H. Figuarts. Since the line was an offshoot of a Kamen Rider figure line, the focus has been on Kamen Rider SHF. With the announcement of the new body and Kamen Rider Kabuto renewal version, there are few other figures on display.
Previously not seen before is a SHF of the Utopia Dopant from Kamen Rider W. It's the last major villain that hasn't had a release, so it's not too shocking to see it there. However, it is just a display piece and has no zero confirmation for a release.

2013 November: S.H. Figuarts  Kamen Rider ZX 3,600Yen

2013 November: S.H. Figuarts  Blue Spader 4,200Yen
2013 December: S.H. Figuarts  Kamen Rider Agito Burning Form 4,000Yen
2014 January: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Garren & Red Rhombus

2013 November: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Alternatives Zero 3,500Yen

What does have confirmation is Alternative Zero from Kamen Rider Ryuuki. Easily my favorite design from Ryuuki, the dark blue, black and gold make for a nice color palate. I'm glad that he's getting an S.H. Figuarts as his previous figure, one of the early S.I.C., broke in half from just posing in half. It will be nice to have an Alternative Zero that doesn't break in half. It will be available in November for ¥3,675.

Every Kamen Rider SHF and Figuarts Zero is on display at the show, including a couple that will soon be released. Check them out in the gallery below.

Hideaki Anno's Tokusatsu Exhibit

"Hideaki Anno's Tokusatsu Museum" opened at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo this week, with the tokusatsu fanboy turned Evangelion creator curating a look at the artifacts from Japan's great special effect driven works such as Godzilla, Ultraman and Gamera.

The event also features Studio Ghibli's new live-action short God Warrior Attacks Tokyo,in which a God Warrior from Hayao Miyazaki's Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind attacks the capital. The piece about a liiving nuclear weapon that destroyed civilization in Nausicaä attacking the metropolis is also informed by concern with nuclear energy.

Evangelion creator Hideaki Anno's career has deep ties with the works of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. Hideaki Anno worked as an animator for Studio Ghibli forerunner Topcraft on Miyazaki's Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.  Anno impressed the crew so much that Toshio Suzuki has said that there was talk of making the ecological epic a trilogy with Anno directing the middle feature.
