In a welcome nod to the franchise's heritage, Akira Takarada, who played
heroic salvage ship captain Hideto Ogata in 1954's original Gojira, was on the set of upcoming Hollywood Godzilla remake's Vancouver shoot for what seems likely to be at least a cameo appearance.
