"Dokidoki! PreCure" Movie Scheduled for Release in October

 

 Even before the TV series begins, Toei's official site has already revealed that a feature-length film based on the Dokidoki! PreCure TV anime series will be released in October of this year. The main staff and the final title for the film have not been announced yet. This is the 15th film from the PreCure franchise since the first film Futari wa PreCure Max Heart: The Movie in 2005.  There has been a rumor that Dokidoki! PreCure is the final installment of Toei Animation's PreCure TV anime series. On January 31st, 2012, Hidenori Oyama, a managing director of Toei Animation, gave a talk on the company's business strategy for the near future at "Anime Business Forum + 2012" held at Digital Hollywood University in Tokyo. In the talk, Oyama commented, "The PreCure series has reached its eighth season and 376 episodes have been produced.

One of the fun things about going to movie theaters is collecting new flyers for the up-coming films. If you are lucky, you may also find the flyers for the films shown at the theater right now.

Anpanman Tops Bandai's Ranking of "Most Favorite Character"

 

Bandai, the most successful toy company in Japan, announced this year's result of the annual survey "Who is your children's favorite character?" on its official site on June 28. The survey was conducted among 2,000 Japanese parents who have 0-12 year old children. No surprise, Takashi Yanase's Anpanman, a hero with an edible head made of "pan" (bread) that is filled with "an" (red bean paste), wins the first spot of the boy's and girl's combined ranking for 11 consecutive years since 2002 when the survey began. The second of the combined ranking　(and the top of the girl's) is a magical girl anime PreCure series defeating Pokemon/Pocket Monster two years in a row.

"PreCure" is Most Tweeted Anime Word for 2 Consecutive Months

 

The Japanese communications service provider NEC BIGLOBE reported their monthly research for the major topics in the Japanese Twitter on April 6. Following the last month, "PreCure" was the #10 most Tweeted and #1 hashtagged word in Japan from March 1 to April 1.
