Comic Heroes Starts Accepting Submissions for 2nd Comic Award

 

Monthly Comic Heroes Magazine has opened an English announcement page for their 2nd Comic Award. As the name indicates, Comic Heroes is a manga magazine specialized in hero-themed stories. It started publishing in November 2011 and is available at only the stores of 7-Eleven convenience store chain, no regular bookstores or other convenience store chains like Lawson or Family Mart. Reportedly, the magazine has a circulation of 200,000-300,000 in Japan.  

This time the magazine eagerly welcomes foreign manga/comic artists. 2nd Comic Award is divided into four rounds. They have started accepting submissions for the first round (Summer) which will end on September 5. Please read the guideline below, and get your chance to make your manga debut with your own hero story!

Entry Criteria
Amateurs and professionals of any age, gender, or nationality are welcome.

Content
We welcome any hero-themed manga that will appeal to readers of "HERO'S". There are no restrictions on genre, we accept action, fantasy, sci-fi, slice-of-life, historical drama, and more. However, the work must be original and unpublished. *Manga based on existing works, such as a new story about ULTRAMAN, will not be accepted as original works.

Page Limits
Between 16 and 50 pages (please include page numbers throughout). For four-panel manga, please include ten or more strips.

Manuscript Size
Use black ink or sumi on size B4 Kent paper, drawing paper, or manuscript paper. For data submissions, please provide a hard-copy sample of the work.

How to Apply
On the back of the last page of your manuscript, please write the title of the work and your postal code, address, name (and pen name if you use one), age, occupation, and telephone number, as well as a brief CV and list of any works you have had published in the past. If you would like your manuscript returned, please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your submission. If you do not provide an envelope with proper postage, we cannot return your submission.
