GameKyo reports a new Pokémon that was recently revealed during a Japan Expo exclusive video presentation, where Pokémon X and Pokémon Y director
Junichi Masuda talked a bit about the upcoming game. Masuda also shared
the ideas behind the French motif of the sixth generation’s main
region, Kalos.
The new sword-like Pokémon is named Monorparle in French, and Hitotsuki
in Japanese, according to the director. Around the 3:52 mark of the
video, we get a look at the Steel and Ghost type Pokémon that is said
to be an ancient soul that presents itself in the form of a sword.
The “Xerneas and Yveltal Blue” (pictured) and “Premium Gold” 3DS XL models will cost 22,800 yen each. They’ll come packaged with a download copy of the game (there are separate packs for Pokemon X and Y – the Pokemon X pack comes with Pokemon X, for example),
The first details of the Pokémon XY anime have been revealed.
As always, a new Pokémon anime series is set to debut close to the release of a new generation of Pokémon games. The Pokémon Company has announced that Pocket Monsters XY will air in Japan on October 17th.
Ash will return as the series’ protagonist, and will travel to Lumiose City, which is the town you’ll start out at in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y’s Kalos region.
In Pokemon X and Y, players begin their Pokemon adventure across the Kalos region in Vaniville Town.
After choosing your male or female character, you’ll step outside the
house you just moved into and meet four friends who will embark on a
journey around the Kalos region alongside you. They are:
Shauna - an incredibly energetic girl who is coming
along on the journey to find a dream of her own. She’s friendly and
outgoing, and seems to genuinely enjoy all the curiosities you’ll come
across on your journey.
Tierno - the dancer of the group and wants more
than anything to create a dance team with his Pokémon. Strong, kind, and
light on his feet, Tierno gets easily distracted by watching opposing
Pokémon during battles because he’s too busy trying to incorporate
Pokémon moves into his dances.
Trevor - bursts with curiosity about the world
around him. He’s an excellent student, and very competitive, wanting to
be the first of the group to complete his Pokédex.
Serena (if you play as a boy) or Calem
(if you play as a girl) – lives next door to you in Vaniville Town.
This character has a passion to become a powerful Pokémon Trainer and
sets out on the journey to accomplish that dream.
As you explore Kalos, you’ll battle gym leaders and collect gym
badges. The first gym leader you’ll encounter is Viola, the gym leader
of Santalune City, a pleasant city known for its large fountain and park
benches.
Players will first learn about Viola when they meet her older sister
Alexa, a journalist working for the publishing house in Lumiose City.
She will tell players her sister will be happy to meet players visiting
Santalune.
Nintendo detailed a new communication system for Pokemon X and Y during a developer round-table at E3 today.
The “Player Search System” allows players to connect, battle, and
trade with other players nearby and around the world. It will make it
easy to find other people playing Pokemon X and Y,
whether they’re near you or on the other side of the world. With the
feature switched on, players will be alerted when someone nearby is
playing, and give you the option to battle or trade with them
wirelessly. Using a Wi-Fi connection, players will be able to do the
same with other players all over the world.
A new type of battle was also revealed. “Horde Encounters” pits one
of the player’s Pokemon against multiple wild Pokemon that all attack at
once. To come out the victor in such battles, players should make sure
their Pokemon has moves that can attack multiple enemies at once.
Another new type of battle is “Sky Battles.” Certain trainers will
challenge you to these matches, which take place high in the sky. You
might encounter a trainer on the edge of a cliff that wants to challenge
you to a Sky Battle. If you have a Pokemon with the ability to fly,
you’ll be able to.
Nintendo also revealed three more new Pokemon, in addition to those revealed
Remember that panda, bird, goat, and...dog thing from Pokemon X and Y that were revealed last weekend
from CoroCoro magazine? Those creatures are known as Panchum
(fighting), Fletchling (normal/flying), Gogoat (grass), and Helioptile
(normal/electric), and now, compliments of the official Pokemon YouTube channel, we have footage of them all in-game.
Gamers fond of the beloved Pokemon franchise have been bursting at the seams in anticipation of the upcoming pair of Pocket Monster titles. Yes, fans of Pokemon X and Pokemon Y
are understandably excited for the eventual release of both games later
this year, but there hasn’t been much new information released on the
games at all.
Fortunately, trainers learned yesterday that news on the games were scheduled to hit very soon, but no one thought that scans from Japanese gaming magazine CoroCoro, containing new details on Pokemon X and Y, would emerge in such a short time span.
The next round of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y news will be shared on May 19th, The Pokémon Company has revealed.
The May 19th episode of Pokémon Smash will feature Game Freak director Junichi Masuda, according to the series’ website , and lots of new information is promised during the episode.

Pokemon enthusiasts across the globe are now anticipating the release of Pokemon X and Pokemon Y,
and who could blame them. Not only does it mark the first time a core
installment has landed on the Nintendo 3DS, but it’s the first ever
fully 3D Pocket Monster game. While the presentation in which Nintendo President Satoru Iwata revealed Pokemon X and Y got fans incredibly excited, it also left a number of questions in its wake; questions that many are now left to ponder.
The killer app has arrived! The Big N have finally gone and revealed
what is arguably the most significant 3DS game in quite a while, and, as
expected, it's a Pokemon game. Or rather games, as these things usually come in pairs.
And it seems that The Pokemon Company have finally run out of colors to use for naming (Pokemon Burnt Sienna and Pokemon Sepia were rejected in focus testing), and have switched raw letters. The 3DS' next core Pokemon games are to be called Pokemon X and Pokemon Y.
Checkout the video, watch it untill the end to see the AWESOMENESS!
The games will have full 3D graphics (and of course, 3D-viewing
support via the 3DS), a dozen handfuls of collectible monsters, slight
differences between the two variants (naturally), and of course three
new starter Pokemon, called Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie.
