Pokemon Black & White 2 Sells 1.6 Million Units First Week

 

Enterbrain and Famitsu have provided a first week sales figure for Pokemon Black & White 2. The DS sequel sold 1,618,621 in its first week of sales. As the game was released on a Saturday, the "first week" includes just two days.

Black & White 2 ended up with the third best start for the DS platform. It's also the first game to sell a million units this year, on any platform.

Nintendo To Hold Discount Sale On Nintendo eShop Each Week

 

Last week, Nintendo made Super Mario Land, the first Mario title for the Game Boy, available at a discount on the Nintendo eShop in North America. While the game’s regular price is $4, last week, it was on sale for $3 instead.

Bummed that you missed out on the deal? Don’t worry, you may have something else to look forward to in the near future.

Nintendo of America say that, from now on, they’ll be holding a discount sale on the Nintendo eShop every week. Each week, a different Nintendo 3DS game will be available at a discounted price.

Meanwhile, Nintendo of Europe are running their own discount sale until June 28th, and then a second sale until July 5th. Here’s the lowdown on that:

Longtime chronicler of Japan funkiness and characters just this side of normal Kyoichi Tsuzuki, the force behind various omnibus tomes like Roadside Japan, Tokyo Style, and Happy Victims, has just launched a new online weekly “mail magazine” (an email newsletter to you and I): the Roadsiders’ Weekly. Previously Tsuzuki-san had quite an active blog where he would post his latest sojourns into Japan’s pop cultural belly.
