Ultra-Act God Zenon

From Denkou Chojin Gridman AKA Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad, God Zenon is a combination of the Thunder Jet, God Tank, & Twin Driller. Though this figure can't separate into those components it more than makes up for it with what appears to be excellent articulation and some great accessories which include the Dragonic Cannon and a personalized tamashii stage decal for Gridman

Saint Cloth Myth EX 10th Anniversary Figures Revealed!

Last week, Tamashii Nations teased Saint Seiya fans with an announcement that they had a big news. Setting up a special page with just a banner and a video, all that was said was that the Saint Cloth Myth 10th Anniversary Project had an announcement. Their news would be revealed on May 15 on Ustream at 1:30 Japan Standard Time.

Since the beginning of the Saint Cloth Myth Ex line 7 million Saint Seiya figures have been sold. Since this has been such a success, a special exhibit tour called the World Sanctuary Tour has been planned. The tour will visit 10 different areas in over six months with Saint Seiya figures in toy.

To also celebrate their success, a special item has been made for the occasion. A PURE gold figure of Sagittarius in armor has been made with the help of Tanaka Precious Metals Jewelry Co. Standing at almost 6 inches, this figure is not for sale.
Now for what will be for sale. For their 10th anniversary, a new version of all five of the main Saint Seiya figures will be released with a new version of their God Cloths. Also announced was a new figure that will be added to their line, God Cloth Athena! These anniversary figures will start to be released in September.

DC Injustice Doomsday Figure Unveiled!

DC Collectibles has unveiled its upcoming 3.75-inch Injustice: Gods Among Us Doomsday. Doomsday, who was one of the final characters announced for the game, may be best remembered for "killing" Superman in the controversial 1992 Death of Superman storyline.

Although I've never been a fan of Doomsday, I can't help but be a little impressed by this design which strikes me as being among DC Collectibles' coolest 3.75-inch creations. The sculpting and jointing are both fairly strong (albeit he could use either a cut waist or an upper torso joint). DCC really seems to do great work on over-sized 3.75-inch characters, such as the previously released Solomon Grundy.

Warner and DC Entertainment have announced that April 16 will mark the North American launch of Injustice: Gods Among Us on the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U. Worldwide releases ensue on the 19th. Additionally, the game will be sold in two costlier varieties: the Injustice: Gods Among Us Collector’s Edition (announced last September), which will retail at $99.99, and the Injustice: Gods Among Us Battle Edition, which is slated to cost $149.99.

So does the prodigious pricing have its perks? Below are the contents of the $149.99 Battle Edition, which comes stocked with an exclusive, specially designed Injustice Fight Stick and three new skins for Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman straight out of DC’s The New 52 comics.
Injustice Release Date Battle edition
According to Warner Bros., the Fight Stick boasts a lightweight construction with a non-skid foam underside; a lockout feature for the Start, Select and Guide buttons; and adjustable illumination for the buttons and joystick. With Injustice’s two-dimensional gameplay, you can’t go wrong on mechanics; with NetherRealm’s success in the Mortal Kombat franchise, we’re hoping the same can be said for quality.

Hideaki Anno's Tokusatsu Exhibit

"Hideaki Anno's Tokusatsu Museum" opened at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo this week, with the tokusatsu fanboy turned Evangelion creator curating a look at the artifacts from Japan's great special effect driven works such as Godzilla, Ultraman and Gamera.

The event also features Studio Ghibli's new live-action short God Warrior Attacks Tokyo,in which a God Warrior from Hayao Miyazaki's Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind attacks the capital. The piece about a liiving nuclear weapon that destroyed civilization in Nausicaä attacking the metropolis is also informed by concern with nuclear energy.

Evangelion creator Hideaki Anno's career has deep ties with the works of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. Hideaki Anno worked as an animator for Studio Ghibli forerunner Topcraft on Miyazaki's Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.  Anno impressed the crew so much that Toshio Suzuki has said that there was talk of making the ecological epic a trilogy with Anno directing the middle feature.
