First Look At The Live Action Gatchaman Movie

 

 Japanese talk show Zip! has provided fans with an early look at the forthcoming live-action Science Ninja Team Gatchaman movie. Based on the anime by Tatsunoko Productions, this series is perhaps better known in the West for the adapted series Battle of the Planets!

The movie stars Tori Matsuzaka (.hack//The Movie, Samurai Sentai Shinkenger) as Ken the Eagle, Go Ayano (Kamen Rider 555, Rurouni Kenshin) as Joe the Condor, Ayame Goriki (Mirai Nikki, IS) as Jun the Swan, Tatsuomi Hamada (Ultraman Zero, Gokaiger vs. Gavan) as Jinpei the Swallow and Ryohei Suzuki (Hana Kimi) as Ryu the Owl.

Live Action Gatchaman to Star Shinkenger’s Tori Matsuzaka (Shinken Red)

 

After many years of rumors and failed attempts at making this thing a reality, there is finally going to be a live action Kagaku Ninjatai Gatchaman movie.

The movie is going to star Tori Matsuzaka, otherwise known as Shiba Takeru / ShinkenRed in Samurai Sentai Shinkenger. Joining him are actors Gou Ayano (Crows Zero 2) as Jou, Ayami Gouriki (Future Diary) as Jun, Tatsuomi Hamada (Ultraman Zero the Movie) as Jinpei, the youngest member of the team, and Ryouhei Suzuki (HanaKimi Ikemen Paradise) as Ryu. The movie is expected to be released next year and will have its script written by Yuusuke Watanabe, known for his work on Gantz, Bloody Monday, and 20th Century Boys.

Live-Action "Himitsu no Akko-chan" Poster Film Revealed

An updated, live-action version of Fujio Akatsuka's magical girl manga Himitsu no Akko-chan (Secret Akko) is coming to Japanese theaters September 1st and the poster was revealed today. Haruka Ayase (Cyborg She, The Magic Hour) plays 5th grader Akko, who can open her magical compact, say "tekumakumayakon," and transform into her 22-year-old self. Masaki Okada (Gravity Clown, Confessions) co-stars at her elite salaryman love interest. 

 

There were three anime adaptations of Himitsu no Akko-chan: 1969, 1988, and 1998, including some theatrical animation. The original manga was serialized in Ribbon from 1962.
