Nintendo has always maintained its region lock policy for most of its
console, hence its no surprise that their new upcoming console – the
Nintendo Wii U will be region locked as well.
Its always a disappointment when Nintendo choose to region lock their
consoles, unlike Sony and Microsoft. My personal thought was that it
would affect sales since its proves a hassle for gamers residing outside
Japan but whom would like to play Japanese version of the game.
And of
course, there’s always the added shipping costs of purchasing Japanese
game instead of just purchasing the ones that are available in your
region.
