Pokemon: Black Kyurem C-Gear Skin + Dragonite & Deoxys Event

 

For those of you with the Japanese Black, White, Black 2 and White 2 games, the new C-Gear skin promotion is live.  The Pokémon Company have shared another short preview of the next Pokémon movie in North America, Pokémon the Movie: Kyurem vs. the Sword of Justice. The movie will air on Cartoon Network on December 8th and you can watch the preview below. It’s similar to the previous one, but with some new footage:

Pokédex 3D Pro: Test Your Pokémon Knowledge

 

In 2011, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company released a free app for the Nintendo 3DS, titled Pokédex 3D. This app was exactly what the name implies—a Pokédex containing detailed information on Pokémon, including stats, move sets and more, along with gorgeous 3D models. The catch was that Pokédex 3D only included information on the Unova Pokémon introduced in Pokémon Black/White.

Pokédex 3D Pro is an updated version of Pokédex 3D, and is no longer free—it costs $15. However, it contains almost everything you want to know about every Pokémon, right from the first generation to the latest, at a glance. (Barring some recent legendaries like Meloetta and Genesect, who need to be unlocked.)

Everything from gorgeous 3D Pokémon models to information such as its stat ranking, Pokédex entry, abilities, type strengths and weaknesses, evolutions, and—of course—attack lists. Pokémon are searchable by various criteria such egg group, ability, regions, and type. You can also “Move-hop” by looking up a move a Pokémon can use, and then seeing what other Pokémon can use that same move.

The original Pokédex 3D had these features, too, but there are a few other major differences on top of the fact that Pro has expanded the Pokédex to all five regions (and the fact that all of the Pokémon are unlocked from the get-go).

The greatest change is that now, you can compare the many different Pokémon listed in the Pokédex with your AR Viewer. Using QR codes on my laptop screen (see above screenshot), I could compare and rank Pokémon by stat (Who has the highest Attack? Speed?), and by height and weight. I could also easily check how a Pokémon would fare against one attack type (for example, choosing “Dark” while looking at a Musharna would cause the words “Super Effective” to pop up).

Of course, you can also take photographs of the Pokémon using the AR Viewer. The Pokémon can perform actions and be paused just like in their original Pokédex 3D entries, which you can also view with the press of a button. Every Pokémon in Pokédex 3D Pro still performs one action, but now you can pause them in the middle if you just want to admire them. (This is the same option that was included in last year’s Pokédex 3D update patch.)

Another addition is that of quizzes. Called “Pokémon Challenges,” these test your knowledge of Pokémon. At first, they start fairly easy—a couple show a Pokémon on the top screen and you have to choose their name, and a few are the nostalgic “Who’s that Pokémon?”-type silhouette guessing games.

As you unlock more quizzes by answering more questions correct, though, some of the themes start getting more esoteric and tricky. One quiz covers up most of the Pokémon and you can only view a part of the Pokémon at a time.

Another has you identify Pokémon by evolutions, and yet another asks you to identify the different forms of a Pokémon. Not all of the questions are about identification either—some ask you to compare which is taller or heavier.

Rein In The Amazing Colt Pokémon Keldeo!

 

 New legendary Pokémon, Keldeo, is only available via select GameStop or GAME stores, depending on whether you’re in the U.S. or U.K. This week, The Pokémon Company released a new video of Keldeo, showing off what he looks like in the localized Black/White and Black/White 2 games:

Pokemon B&W 2: World Tournament, Pokewood, And Reijuu Forms

The cover for June's edition of Corocoro was uploaded onto the internet this morning, and it features new forms of Tornadus, Thundurus and Landorus in the bottom left corner. Tornadus now has huge new wings, and Thundurus has a giant new jaw to match...


Yikes.


On the first two pages, we learn that Cheren has become a Gym Leader in the Unova region, using Patrat, while Bianca has become Professor Juniper's assistant and is the character who gives the new player characters their Starter Pokemon. Speaking of the Starters, they received new official artwork, with Oshawott finally showing more than one facial expression. Alder is also present at the start of the game, but nobody seems to know where N has gone after BW.


The next pages explain a new feature in BW2 called the World Tournament. Here you'll be able to battle Gym Leaders and Elite Fours members of all previous Generations, including Cynthia, Blue, Brock, Misty, Giovanni, Volkner, Steven and Lance. In the screenshots of the game, you can also see sprites for Janine, Erika, Lt. Surge and Blaine.


The third set of pages discuss the other new feature, Pokewood, which is essentially a combination of Pokemon and Hollywood. Brycen is present because he was said to be an actor in the original games, and basically the feature seems like the new Contests/Musicals/what have you. Homika is also revealed to be the second Gym Leader you fight.



This set of pages reveals the new forms of Tornadus, Thundurus and Landorus. Tornadus has taken on a bird-like appearance, while Landorus's new form is modeled after a grounded animal similar to a cheetah. Thundurus's new form seems the most confusing because it looks humanoid in the picture on the left but has scrawnier goat legs in its anime artwork a few pages later. The new forms are called Reijuu forms, with the originals being named their Keshin forms. The Reijuu forms are available from the new 3DS eShop game Pokemon AR Searcher and can be transferred to BW2.


This set of pages reveals Meloetta's Step forme and explains how she changes between her two forms. Official artwork for the Step form at last!


These pages show us the official stock art for Meloetta's Aria form as well as Keldeo and give us some information on their event giveaways happening during the summer. Meloetta will be Level 15, knowing Round, Quick Attack and Confusion. A sharp eye will notice that the Basic Badge is the first one in the Badge case, indicating that Cheren is a Normal-type Gym Leader. Since you're starting at the other side of the region than you did in BW, this obviously means that Cheren isn't Nacrene City's Gym Leader. Wonder what Lenora's doing?


The final page reveals two new EX cards, one for Black Kyurem and one for White Kyurem, with both being Dragon-types. The opposite side reveals that the BW series is renaming itself "Best Wishes - Season 2," probably to help promote Black and White 2, and it looks like some older characters will be making returning appearances, including Cynthia and Dawn; meanwhile Team Rocket and Giovanni pursue Meloetta.

Pokemon The Movie 15th: Kyurem Vs. The Sacred Swordsman Keldeo

 

 This movie is the second movie in the Pokémon Best Wishes Movie Series. It is scheduled for Japanese release in July 2012 and will likely, based on previous movies and events, offer a download of the event Pokémon Keldeo to your Black & White games.
This year, there has only been one movie announced so far and focuses on the Ice Dragon Kyurem as well as the Swordsman Pokémon; Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion. Not much is known about the plot yet but Kyurem and the Swordsmen; Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion battled in the mine in the mountain in the past, which created an Ice Dragon Gate in the process of battle so they could battle on the other side. However, now it's in the present, Kyurem appears again and the Swordsmen are back, ready to do battle with it.

 

The movie also features a new Pokémon short entitled, "Meloetta's Glittery Recital" which will mark the debut of a new Pokémon, Meloetta a Normal-type legendary Pokémon that has the ability to change using Relic Song. It can change between Aria Forme (appearing in the short), which is Normal/Psychic, and Pirouette Forme, which is Normal/Fighting.

Plot Details:

Ash and Co. head toward Rooshan/Roushan. While on a train passing through the mountains, Ash spots an injured Pokemon he's never seen before, collapsed. This is the phantom Pokemon, Keldeo who is said to be the successor to Cobalion and Co., the masters of the Sacred Sword who protect the world. At that moment, Kyurem appears and begins attacking, changing into Black Kyurem & White Kyurem in doing so. This blocks Ash & co's path to Keldeo. Ash and co. just manage to escape from Kyurem's pursuit, by the skin of their teeth. The battle rages between Kyurem, chasing Keldeo, and the train and hot-air balloon in the sky. Can Keldeo, Ash and co. overcome this danger?
