Street Fighter Poducer Yoshinori Ono Temporarily Steps Down

Yoshinori Ono, that always-smiling, endlessly positive Capcom producer, is taking a break from the world of fighting games. Because of health concerns related to overwork, Ono will be temporarily stepping down from his position as producer of the Street Fighter series.
Ono tweeted that while he was recuperating, he would still give "constant support" to Street Fighter, and that he'd think about a "new future for fighting games" after his leave of absence. Capcom will be announcing his temporary successor at a private event in the near future.

"Overwork" seems like an understatement--it seemed like Ono was always available to talk about Street Fighter, even going so far as to impersonate psychic crimelord M. Bison from the craptastic live-action Street Fighter movie just to do something extra for the fans. We all send our best wishes to Ono and his family, and hope for his speedy recovery--fighting games just won't be quite as entertaining without him at the helm.
