"Transformers: War for Cybertron" Developers Making Marvel Game

After decades of crap, I had pretty much accepted that we were never going to get a good Transformers video game. High Moon Studios rolled around with 2010's Transformers: War for Cybertron, proving me wrong and providing a fast-paced, fan-faithful, and above all fun shooting/transforming/giant-robot-fighting experience.

While many of us wait breathlessly for WfC's follow-up, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, High Moon has stated that its next project is all about Marvel Comics. No other details were given, but High Moon will make a full announcement about the game at San Diego Comic-Con (this coming July 12-15, although the "Marvel Video Games" panel will be on July 14th).

The smart thing to do is not get overly excited, but being the huge True Believer that I am, it's difficult not to! Here are three recent Marvel arcs I'd love to see get a solid single-player action-adventure treatment from High Moon:

nova
Annihilation- Instead of a fight to save just the Earth, Nova and other C-list spacefaring superheroes have to band together against an unstoppable cosmic army that grinds everything in its path to dust. This is the Gurren-Lagann of comic books, and would make an awesome HD superhero gaming spectacle.

gifted
Gifted/Dangerous/Torn/Unstoppable- Joss Whedon's run on the X-Men was not only filled with John Cassaday's excellent art, but it had some of the funniest, smartest writing the series has yet seen, focusing on a "mutant cure," Cerebro coming to life, and an alien race willing to wipe out Earth just to kill one X-Man. Plus, it'd be awesome to play as Kitty Pryde of all people as she takes on an entire building full of bad guys.

Fear Itself- The Thor-centric "big Marvel summer event" focuses on a dark figure from Asgard's past being resurrected, and forcing some of the most powerful beings on Earth to be his murderous slaves. With the body count rising and the clock ticking toward Earth being wiped clean of life, a Fear Itself game would mix big action and big emotion all the way up to a crazy, high-action finale.

Those are just my fanboy wishes, but what would you like to see in a High Moon-developed Marvel game? Maybe something more comedic and over-the-top, like Deadpool or Marvel Zombies? Maybe something classic, like Dark Phoenix or The Kree-Skrull War?
